I really like this Bessport tent. While it’s not the lightest option available, it performed reliably on my backpacking trip. I removed the stakes and attached them to the side of my pack to avoid disturbing my balance, which was perfect since I prefer not to have gear swinging outside my pack. Setting up and taking down the tent were both quick and straightforward. Although condensation wasn’t a major issue, even during heavy rain, you shouldn’t expect to stay completely dry in very humid conditions at this price. The rainfly held up well – I left my shoes outside during the rain and they remained dry. The tent can technically accommodate two people, but it gets cramped, especially with gear. I used it solo and appreciated the extra space. The zipper works fine, but it can catch on the fabric if not carefully guided. This isn't a big problem. Getting in and out was easy for me, even at 6'4".
After extensive research, I selected this Bessport tent primarily due to its affordable price and strong reviews. After nine months of use in various conditions, it has proven to be highly reliable. The true test came during a severe thunderstorm with heavy rain and winds of over 50 mph. However, thanks to well-sealed seams and excellent protection from the rain fly against wind and rain, the interior remained completely dry when using the ground mat, rain fly, stakes, and guy lines provided. Setup and takedown are fast and straightforward due to the bungee-connected aluminium poles, and the tent fits back into its bag easily. Ventilation is excellent, and on clear nights, removing the fly allows for stargazing. The tent feels sturdy and well-constructed. However, I deducted one star due to its weight, which isn’t ideal for backpacking, but makes it perfect for car camping. The 2–3 person size works well for a single camper with gear or two people. people at most.
I purchased two of these affordable backpacking tents for my family of six and I am extremely satisfied with my decision. The design is cleverly crafted, making setup incredibly simple — even in the dark. The interior comfortably accommodates three people and their backpacks without feeling cramped, which was a pleasant surprise, and the ventilation and visibility are superb, especially when the rain fly is removed on clear nights. This tent has proven reliable in various weather conditions, including on multi-day trips with frequent rain. Although condensation can accumulate during extended wet periods, this is on a par with much pricier models. Despite heavy usage, the tent remains sturdy and is still lightweight enough for family backpacking trips. It provides excellent value for money. Even after investing in a high-end, ultralight tent, I still use this one for family outings and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, budget-friendly backpacking tent.
